# Files, transfers and 3D exports

Part of Corner cases by Baltor.

File transfers in checked parts, glTF and Godot checkers that catch lost animation and joints, and conformance tools for TOML parsers, HTTP/2 servers and Matroska files.

## What to watch for

- A file split into parts needs a manifest with checksums to be rebuilt exactly.
- glTF is Y-up and in metres; a Z-up or centimetre export looks right in one tool and wrong in the next.
- A conformance suite finds the parser bugs your own tests never thought of.

## Components

- [Split a file into parts under a byte limit with a SHA-256 manifest](https://baltor.ai/components/baltor-multipart-file-transfer): Split a file into parts under a byte limit with a SHA-256 manifest, verify received parts and rebuild the exact original, refusing missing, reordered, altered, duplicated or extra parts and never deleting or overwriting a file. Name `baltor_multipart_file_transfer`, licence MIT, 15 files.
- [glTF 2.0 structural validator](https://baltor.ai/gallery/gltf-structural-validator): Check that a .gltf or .glb file is internally consistent before an engine loads it: buffers, views, accessors, indices, materials, textures, the node graph, skins and animation samplers. Name `gltf_structural_validator`, licence MIT, 26 files.
- [Axes, handedness and units checker and converter for glTF](https://baltor.ai/gallery/axes-units-converter): Diagnose a glTF that is Z-up, mirrored or in the wrong unit (checked against expected dimensions and triangle winding) and convert it between up axes, handedness, front-face winding and units, transforming nodes, meshes, skins and animations. Name `axes_units_converter`, licence MIT, 16 files.
- [Animation export trap checker with a Blender declare and repair procedure](https://baltor.ai/gallery/animation-export-trap-checker): Catch exports that keep every mesh but lose animation: only the playing action exported, clips merged, channels without targets, clips baked to one pose or over the whole scene range. Name `animation_export_trap_checker`, licence MIT, 23 files.
- [Articulation loss checker for exports that drop joint information](https://baltor.ai/gallery/articulation-loss-checker): Catch exports that keep every mesh but lose what joints need: parts joined into their parent, origins moved off the hinge, node frames rotated, hierarchies flattened, and joint records in custom properties left out by a default export. Name `articulation_loss_checker`, licence MIT, 22 files.
- [Godot .tscn and .tres parser and linter](https://baltor.ai/gallery/godot-scene-linter): Parse Godot 4 text scenes and resources and find what fails or silently vanishes on load: missing resource files, unknown or forward resource ids, missing node parents, repeated sibling names, untyped nodes, broken connections, several roots, syntax and format errors. Name `godot_scene_linter`, licence MIT, 30 files.
- [Language agnostic test suite for TOML parsers (toml-test)](https://baltor.ai/components/language-agnostic-test-suite-for-toml-parsers-toml-test-dffc8a8c): toml-test 2.2.0 (Language agnostic test suite for TOML parsers): the install recipe with published checksums for each platform and a typed wrapper that checks arguments before running it. Name `toml-test 2.2.0`, licence MIT AND BSD-2-Clause, 7 files.
- [Tool to verify Matroska and WebM files for spec conformance (mkvalidator)](https://baltor.ai/components/tool-to-verify-matroska-and-webm-files-for-spec-conforma-f8b86e49): mkvalidator 0.6.0 (Tool to verify Matroska and WebM files for spec conformance): the install recipe with published checksums for each platform and a typed wrapper that checks arguments before running it. Name `mkvalidator 0.6.0`, licence MIT AND BSD-2-Clause, 7 files.
- [Conformance testing tool for HTTP/2 implementation (h2spec)](https://baltor.ai/components/conformance-testing-tool-for-http-2-implementation-h2spe-759b250f): h2spec 2.6.0 (Conformance testing tool for HTTP/2 implementation): the install recipe with published checksums for each platform and a typed wrapper that checks arguments before running it. Name `h2spec 2.6.0`, licence MIT AND BSD-2-Clause, 7 files.
- [Conformance checker and technical metadata reporter (mediaconch)](https://baltor.ai/components/conformance-checker-and-technical-metadata-reporter-medi-f3933c63): mediaconch 25.04 (Conformance checker and technical metadata reporter): the install recipe with published checksums for each platform and a typed wrapper that checks arguments before running it. Name `mediaconch 25.04`, licence MIT AND BSD-2-Clause, 7 files.
