Typed work result with six outcomes

work_result_type

Give every bounded unit of agent work exactly one typed outcome: completed with evidence, no change needed, needs input, needs scope expansion, unsupported, or budget exhausted with a checkpoint. Validate results against the schema and the rules a schema cannot state.

  • completion needs evidence: A lenient check that only reads the outcome name would accept a completion claim with nothing behind it.

Limits and scope

Limits
Checks shape and internal consistency only: it does not fetch references, rerun tests or judge whether evidence supports the claim. Six outcomes are fixed by the schema; a new outcome needs a new record type. Text fields are limited to 2000 characters and field names to lower-case identifiers.
Guarantees
A valid result matches exactly one of the six shapes; fields belonging to another outcome are refused. A completed result cites at least one piece of evidence whose reference is not the artifact itself. needs_input field names are unique; budget_exhausted obligations are unique; a scope expansion does not add and remove the same item.
Assumes
References (file, commit, record, message, address) point at things the caller can fetch again. The validator checks shape and internal consistency; it does not open references or rerun evidence.
