Geodesic dome with strut length classes
In your harnessBlender toolMIT
Generate a geodesic dome of any frequency from a vertex-up icosahedron, as hexagonal struts with hubs or as a closed panel shell, and list the distinct strut lengths with counts and chord factors. Use it for domes, greenhouses, sci-fi habitats and build planning.

What it takes and gives
- Operator
- baltor.geodesic_dome
- Parameters
- frequency, radius, mode, strut_radius, hub_radius, thickness
- Result
- One mesh object named Geodesic Dome standing on z = 0.
- Blender
- 4.2 or later
- Axes
- Blender Z up, -Y forward
- Units
- metres
Limits. Class I subdivision with the vertex-up orientation only; other classes, orientations and truncations (such as 5/8 domes) are not available. Odd frequencies end in a stepped rim. Struts are straight hexagonal prisms that overlap the hubs; connector design, panel joints and loads are not modelled. Verified in Blender 5.2.1; written for the 4.2 API.
