3D supershape from the Gielis superformula
In your harnessMesh algorithmMIT
Generate star, flower, shell and crystal solids from two Gielis superformula curves combined as a spherical product. Use it for organic props, alien plants and procedural gems.

What it takes and gives
- Entry points
- superformula, supershape, main
- Parameters
- m1, n1, n2, n3, m2, p1, p2, p3 and 3 more
- Complexity
- O(segments * rings)
- Axes
- +Y up, metres
Limits. Some parameter sets make the radius very large or undefined at certain angles (an error is raised when both terms vanish); very small n1 values give spiky shapes with thin faces. The surface can intersect itself for extreme values. No texture coordinates.
