End-grain wood blocks
In your harnessProcedural textureMIT
Generate tileable PBR maps of end-grain wood blocks, as in a butcher block or end-grain parquet: rings around each block's pith, medullary rays, radial checks and glue lines. Use for cutting boards, workbenches and block floors.

What it takes and gives
- Entry point
- generate
- Maps
- albedo, normal, roughness, height, ao
- Parameters
- blocks_across, stagger, ring_density, ring_contrast, rays, checks, glue_line, block_variation and 3 more
- Presets
- default, walnut_staggered, mixed_hardwood, rough_pine
- Tileable
- yes
- Command line
- python wood_end_grain_blocks.py --size 1024 --seed 7 --preset NAME --out DIR [--width W --height H] [--set NAME=VALUE] [--directx-normal] [--orm]
- Godot material
- material.tres
- Blender builder
- blender_material.build_material(folder)
Limits. Rings are circles around one pith per block with noise, a simplification of real growth. Blocks are square and aligned to the tile. Checks are straight radial cracks. Occlusion is a blurred-height estimate.
