Wood floor planks
In your harnessProcedural textureMIT
Generate tileable PBR maps of wood floor or deck boards with staggered joints, growth-ring grain that forms cathedral arches, knots and per-board tone. Use for floors, decks, walls and furniture panels.

What it takes and gives
- Entry point
- generate
- Maps
- albedo, normal, roughness, height, ao
- Parameters
- board_rows, boards_per_row, gap, ring_density, ring_contrast, knots, board_variation, gloss and 4 more
- Presets
- default, walnut, knotty_pine, weathered_grey, white_oak_strip
- Tileable
- yes
- Command line
- python wood_planks.py --size 1024 --seed 7 --preset NAME --out DIR [--width W --height H] [--set NAME=VALUE] [--directx-normal] [--orm]
- Godot material
- material.tres
- Blender builder
- blender_material.build_material(folder)
Limits. Grain comes from a geometric ring model with noise, not from wood anatomy; there is no ray fleck, figure or end grain. Boards run along the tile width only. Knots are simple ring distortions with a dark core. Occlusion is a blurred-height estimate.

- Checks
- command line generates declared maps, maps decode, maps have declared size and channels, maps tile without a seam, normal vectors unit length facing out, maps carry detail, godot imports the maps, godot material template loads every map, godot compatibility render, capture shows the textured surface, blender builds the material
- Techniques
- Growth rings as distance from an inclined virtual pith axis, Per-board hashing for tone, pith and incline, Staggered butt joints from a random offset per row, Fractional Brownian motion stretched along the board for pores, Height to tangent-space normal by central differences
