Polished marble material with turbulent veins

In your harnessBlender toolMIT

Build a node material for polished marble: thin veins from a noise-bent sine, soft clouding, a faint vein bump, slight subsurface and a clear coat, with vein count, width, direction and colours as parameters. Use it for floors, counters, statues and luxury interiors.

Render of Polished marble material with turbulent veins
The render its check recorded in Blender 5.2.1, 192 by 192 pixels.

What it takes and gives

Operator
baltor.material_marble_veins
Parameters
material_name, vein_frequency, turbulence, turbulence_scale, sharpness, direction, stone_color, vein_color and 4 more
Result
One material with a node tree; assigned to the active object.
Blender
4.2 or later
Axes
Blender Z up, -Y forward
Units
metres

Limits. The veins are a single family of turbulent sine bands, so they run broadly parallel; branching and crossing veins of real marble are not reproduced. Object coordinates tie the pattern to the object's scale. The subsurface weight is small and stylized, not measured. Rendered here with Cycles CPU only. Verified in Blender 5.2.1; written for the 4.2 API.
